PROFILE ____________________________________________________________________________>ITALIANO Aneema is a clothing brand inextricably tied to the world of skateboarding. First conceived by a group of friends with a background firmly rooted in street culture and sharing an authentic lifestyle, this young brand's products are made to communicate and amaze, respectful of other people that share the same street attitude and its teachings. HISTORY In 2000, Aneema's logo became the symbol of the most renown and active skate park in Italy: the “S.T.R. Park” located in Reggio Emilia. The events hosted in our facility have been characterised by a party-like and jovial yet professional vibe since 10 years. During the last few years, the STR team has promoted Italian contests and hosted International teams' demos by the following skate teams: NIXON, GIRL, CHOCOLATE, VANS,PLANET HEART, ZOO YORK, REEF, DVS, LAKAI, TWS VM, PUZZLE VM, AEON, PLATINUM, ETNIES and many others as well. The initial skate park was hardly created thanks to our self-financing. Thereafter, and along last years, we received the support of Skate Industries, very attentive to our shows, always more successful and largely attended. In 2001, the simplicity and authenticity of the original logo's concept were further developed and the initial project began to take on a deeper meaning. In 2002, Elia Liquori, the creator, called upon his most reliable friends Mali Yea, Claudio Avanzini and Enrico Gorrea who, after evaluating the future perspectives, decided to actively collaborate to the promotion of this new company. From this combination of common backgrounds and aesthetics, Flow Distribution saw the light and became Aneema's official production and distribution company. On May 9, 2003 Aneema was registered as a European (EU) trademark thus officially acquired its brand status. On October 12th of the same year, together with “Street Attitudes”, Aneema included a Break Ya Deck date, the first European skateboard contest held in Turin. So doing Aneema confirmed the project reliability joining the European skateboard world. Year 2004 saw the confirmation of Break Ya Deck's initial success in the best Italian skateboarding environments: Rome, Sestri Levante, then wrapping up with the final "Street Attitudes" event, an European-level contest that took place in Bolzano. Thousands of people gathered in the indoor facility, chock full of the best IOU ramps transitions, to witness the performance of skateboarders, writers and international bands. We believe this latest edition, just like the others before it, was successful in conveying the true spirit of our work which lies in strong activism towards the promotion of skateboarding in our country. In 2005 the clothing line improved quality and quantity of its articles using an excellent knitwear factory and a new jeans producer, with whom the first experiments and first important articles started. At the same time Aneema continued its major project “Break Ya Deck”, now at its third edition, held in Reggio Emilia and at the Habitat skate park during the Arezzo Wave show to end up in the new skate park of Desenzano del Garda (Brescia) where our international team, largely supported by the city, successfully open the most innovative Italian concrete street skate park, designed by one of our official Team Reader, Pablo Baruffo. In 2006, after ten years of history, the Reggio Emilia skate park is definitely closed to rise again in Battipaglia, completely renewed and where the best Aneema’s skate shop is. Again Break Ya Deck promotes an innovative situation together with a park which will enlighten the entire South of Italy. Shops and distribution take on reaching 70 outlets. The self produced and independent clothing line resolutely grows thanks to our strength and since August 2006, Alfredo Carlo (Stockbridge International) becomes the line art director, giving great satisfaction with the new winter 2007 collection. |
